House Republicans urge tighter export controls on advanced chips

On Friday, Oct. 6, two top GOP House members urged the Biden administration to bolster export control enforcement for advanced semiconductors bound for China. In a letter to National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Representatives Michael McCaul and Mike Gallagher stressed the urgency of updating regulations in light of recent technological advancements by China’s semiconductor giant, highlighting the need to address perceived rule deficiencies or “loopholes.”
